Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Step 1: Enter the first house and read the recipe note
The toolbox sits in the first house you search. Inside, go to the kitchen and open the first cupboard on the left to pick up note 1, the Baekseolgi-Tteok Recipe. While you are in the kitchen you can also talk to the civilian wife — convince her to step aside and the back yard opens up, though there is nothing out there worth the detour.
Step 2: Why the code is 214
The recipe lists 2 kg of rice flour, 5 mL of salt, 1 L of water and 4 packs of golden raisins — but a line at the bottom says to skip the salt. Take the remaining three numbers in order: flour 2, water 1, raisins 4. That is where 214 comes from.
Step 3: Open the toolbox in the living room
Back in the living room, take the sliding door closest to the entrance and open the cabinet to reach the toolbox. Enter 214 on the keypad. Inside is contraband Medicine (listed as heart medicine in some guides) and note 2 of 4, Note From Your Friend.
Location chain and recipe derivation are cross-checked against two published guides. Both pickups sit inside the toolbox, so you only get them if you open it — they feed the No Stone Unturned achievement, and the Medicine enables the peaceful interrogation tied to No Harm Done.
